Meet the Attorney
Head Attorney
Lewis B. Oliver, Jr.
Lewis B. Oliver, Jr. received his undergraduate degree from Harvard College in 1962 and his law degree from New York University School of Law in 1966. He practiced criminal trials and appeals from 1967 until 1976 with the Criminal Defense Division of the Legal Aid Society at 100 Center Street in Manhattan. In 1972 he was the original full-time president of the Association of Legal Aid Attorneys of the City of New York, the first union of lawyers in the United States. In 1971 he was also on the first board of directors of the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws (NORML). Mr. Oliver was an instructor at Albany Law School with the Prisoners Legal Services practice clinic from 1976 to 1978. He has also been the counsel of the New York Public Interest Research Group (NYPIRG), Save the Pine Bush, the Town of Moreau, the Town of Northumberland, the Village of Fort Edward, the Village of Fleischmanns, and the Student Association of the University at Albany.
